French facilities for Fiji rugby team are fantastic

Fiji will take part of the 2007 World Cup and their Rugby Union High Performance manager Peter Murphy is really impressed with the facilities provided to the national side by the host, France.

Indeed, Murphy went to France in order to inspect the accommodation, training and match venue for the major event. And the facilities were just amazing.

"I'm very happy with what I have seen in France," Murphy said. "All things are in place ahead of the tournament next year. There are some minor logistics that we need to work on. However, the facilities are simply fantastic."

As we know, Fiji coach Wayne Pivac said he was elated with the facilities. "I had chosen the facilities myself last year and we are very happy with it," Pivac expressed.

"While I have not seen the other teams' camp sites, I think the one we have will be a great one for our campaign."

Fiji will be based in Toulouse. They are in Pool B with Australia, Wales and Japan. The Fiji national side will face Japan in its opening fixture on September 12. The second encounter is against Canada on September 16.

Fiji will face former champions Australia on September 23 before round up its final pool match against Wales on September 29.

In fact, Murphy traveled to France with national team manager Pio Bosco Tikoisuva, and will present his report to FRU later this week.

And he assured there was a lot of support for Fiji in Toulouse.

"The people of Toulouse are rugby fanatics," Murphy stated. "There is a lot of support for the sport. Agen is not so far away from Toulouse. With Rupeni Caucau playing for Agen we are expected to get a lot of support when we get there."
